The role of school leaders is multifaceted and requires adaptive leadership that focuses on teaching and learning. The first Leaders' Speaker Series of 2024/25 will provide an opportunity for school leaders to hear from Cale Birk.

The overall goal of the series is to focus on advancing leadership excellence, and the challenges associated with leading through theoretical and practical guidance.

  • Grande Prairie on December 2, 2024 (deadline to sign up is November 24, 2024)
  • Edmonton on December 3, 2024 (deadline to sign up is November 25, 2024)

In this hands-on session, we'll explore some of these tools and their uses which can save you hours of valuable time so you can focus more deeply on your students' needs. We will share a process for generating, evaluating, applying, and reflecting on the materials generated which keeps you in the drivers' seat as the designer of incredible learning experiences as professionals while at the same time allowing you to be far more efficient in your daily work life. Welcome to Teacher Growth, Supervision and Evaluation, a workshop for system and school administrators. The provincial Teacher Growth, Supervision and Evaluation Policy deals with accountability and continuous professional growth and ensures that a teacher’s professional practice is under ongoing supervision. When a teacher has a probationary contract or when informed by supervision data, the evaluation of a teacher will occur. The Teacher Growth, Supervision and Evaluation Policy defines the process and the Teaching Quality Standard defines the competencies for professional practice.

This two-day workshop is scheduled for January 30-31, 2025 at Barnett House, Edmonton.

During this time, there are not so obvious considerations related to documentation, employment transitions, and other pragmatic parts of our work that teachers need to know. Join us to explore professional skills, processes, and proactive approaches for closing-up the school year, transitioning into the break, and getting ready for next year (even if you don’t yet have a contract!).
